Hunting Equipment: Five Basic Rules to Keep in Mind
Whenever you are a novice hunter, you may not know there are a number of regulations regarding the use of your new hunting equipment. We want everyone to be safe and enjoy their new hunting equipment, so we encourage you to follow these five etiquette rules to make the most of your next hunting adventure:
#1: Utilize all weapons with care.
The first essential precaution is founded on the simple safety precaution of not being haphazard with a loaded gun. Be careful where you point your gun. Never aim at anything you don’t intend to kill. Know precisely what it is you’re shooting at when you are aiming through the gun sights. Keep guns unloaded until you’re ready to take a shot. Remember not to rest your finger on the trigger; wait until you are ready to fire. You need to treat all weapons just like they are loaded. Many instances have been known in which a person believed that his/her weapon was empty many times with a deadly end result.
#2: All targets should be easy to see and identify~Make sure you can see your target plainly~Any target needs to be easy to recognize~Your target should be clearly in your sight and identifiable}.
If you can’t tell what it is—don’t shoot! There are those who have shot people by accident (including children) because they incorrectly assumed they were seeing an animal. If you see your target, don’t shoot until you are certain nothing is beyond it. If an animal is on a hillside or ridge, don’t fire because you aren’t sure what may be beyond the slope.
#3: Be familiar with up to date regulations concerning the implementing particular hunting equipment.
At one time, bows and arrows were an excellent option for killing game. But, it isn’t unlawful to hunt animals by implementing archery hunting equipment. You can do target practice with a bow and arrow.
#4: Protect yourself.
Make sure that you are not a target for a beginning shooter. Wear bright coloured clothing so it is easy to see that you are a person. It would also be smart to protect your ears and eyes. The glasses will shield your eyes from the gases discharged by firing the gun. The ear protection will protect you from damaging your hearing from being subjected to the loud noise created from shooting.
#5: Pursue the game you are after in a dignified manner.
You should try not to make any hunted game suffer pointlessly. When hunting, try to put the game out of its misery with one clean shot.
